The joy of displaying obi without cutting | Heartfelt gifts and notes from a restaurant exhibition

Replacing the Obi at Serenita Restaurant and a Gift to Remember

Obi Interior Decor for Summer

The other day, I visited Restaurant Serenita, where our frames are on display, to replace the obi inside.

For the summer season, we selected a stunning furisode obi in blue-green and yellow floral patterns.

Set into our frame, which allows the obi to be displayed without cutting, the vibrant colors spread throughout the restaurant, bringing joy to every visitor.

A Small Surprise from the Owner

Once the obi replacement was finished, the restaurant owner said, “Take a look at this,” as he handed me a letter that appeared to be written by a young girl.

A Heartfelt Gift from a Customer, Connected by an Obi

The letter came from the daughter of a foreign family who had visited the restaurant.

Inside were words like “The food is always delicious” and “I came here with my family.” On the back, she had drawn a sweet picture of the framed obi that had been displayed until just moments earlier (the customer had been dining in front of the frame).

The illustration, depicting flowing water and flowers, reflected the young girl’s impression of the obi’s beauty as she enjoyed a relaxing moment after her meal. It was a moving experience that showed how the beauty of Japan can cross national boundaries and touch the heart.

With Gratitude

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Serenita’s owner for sharing this heartwarming experience, and to the young lady who created the beautiful drawing.

Obi Wall Art is not simply interior decor, but a gift that remains in the heart. Through our frames that preserve obis without cutting them, we hope to keep bringing small moments of emotion and beauty into daily life.
